During my one of work experiences, I had the opportunity to lead growth efforts for a venture that scaled the business to $4M in annual GMV, in just 18 months.

The journey was anything but straightforward, and every step taught me the value of combining data, creativity, and relentless execution.

Here are some critical growth levers we pulled:

1️⃣ Data-Driven Insights: We built a robust infrastructure using Mixpanel, SQL dashboards, and Adjust to uncover insights about user behavior. By understanding where users dropped off in the funnel, we made targeted changes to the product that significantly improved signup and first-order conversions, alongside improving our Audience Targeting.

2️⃣ Efficient Ad Spend: Managing a $500K annual marketing budget required precision. Instead of spreading resources thin, we focused on high-performing channels and optimized campaigns in real-time, including Facebook/Google Ads and Influencer campaigns

3️⃣ Building Growth Loops: Organic word-of-mouth became a powerful driver. Happy customers turned into our most effective advocates, helping us achieve exponential growth without proportionally increasing costs. We further accelerated our Word-of-Mouth with Incentivized Referral Marketing.

What truly worked was breaking silos and fostering collaboration between product, operations, and marketing.

Growth wasn’t just a task for one team—it became a company-wide mindset. Every feature we built, every campaign we launched, and every operational change we made aligned with our growth objectives.

To all #product & #growth leaders and #founders, looking forward to your insights that can inspire others on their journey.
